Marsh - A prolific variety. Fruit cream in colour, highly nutritious & virtually seedless. Ripens Autumn.

 

Rio Red - Red flesh, few seeds, prolific. Tree vigorous, cold tolerant.

 

Thompson - Medium size, pink flesh, juice clear & abundant. Very few seeds. Pink form of Marsh. Ripens Autumn.

Pecan Nut

Carya illinoiensis

 

Grafted - Very hardy tree; will produce fruit under a wide range of climatic & soil conditions. The nuts are soft shelled, oval with a Walnut flavour. Ripens in Autumn. As a guide to improve pollination, plant an FM variety with a MF variety (see below).

 

(MF) - Male pollen is shed before female is receptive.

 

(FM) - Female flower is receptive before male pollen is shed.

 

Desirable (MF) - Self pollinating, large oval.

 

Shoshoni (FM) - Large oval.

 

Western Schley (MF) - Self pollinating, medium oval.

 

Wichita (FM) - Large oval.
